Thailand – Captain’s Log: Shopping & Check In

Thailand Sailing Holiday

…from the Prologue of our Thailand Sailing Holiday…

Yellow! So YELLOW! An electric yellow! You order it, you taste it…and Boom! It hits you! So delicious that you cannot stop eating. Your full of its flavour…you just don’t want it to finish. It’s literary melting in your mouth… You definitely have to try it and we know where to find THE BEST one in Phuket. Still don’t know what I’m talking about?

Well…it’s mango&sticky rice!!! “Just” a traditional desert… Unimaginable!

Thailand Sailing Holiday – Day 1

We scheduled to leave early towards the marina, because we had to stop on the way at the fruit market that we’ve spotted the evening before. Baby pineapple? Bananas? Coconuts? Mango? And what kind of mangos!!! Guavas? Tamarind? Oooh yes!!! It was hard to “step over” our seller’s look and negotiate too much.

In the marina we had to split – some of us went shopping (it’s always a good idea to have a shopping list prepared in advance – we will help you with that), where, as always, the bill had over 2m!!! 😄 Together with the other ones, I – the skipper, went to do the check-in procedure with the charter company and to make sure that everything is on board and ready for our next wonderful Thailand Sailing Holiday. It was a fast, but detailed check.

It’s highly important!

I was very happy to find the Yacht Haven Marina having a lot of new utilities. It was different than half a year before, when I was was here. New buildings, new arrangements…lovely! Glad to see the evolution in only a few months…

Our “floating villa” (yes, a Lagoon 450 catamaran) was waiting for us, quite “nervous” to set sail…and so were we…

After all the shopping trollies were empty and everything was onboard, including snorkeling gear…we set sail for Koh Pan Yee…

First Thai sunset for everybody onboard but the skipper…imagine that… It took us only two hours to get to that little village, where we dropped anchor. We all enjoyed it, it was the perfect start for this amazing sailing holiday!

The surprise came in the morning…

…to be continued…
